Our PTA

Our PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) is the organized way we fundraise and volunteer to fill our school needs that the district funds cannot stretch to cover.  PTA raises money for field trips, partial science camp tuition, books, school-wide events and much more, that make the school year special for each Adelante student. 

 

Many parents feel they cannot participate in PTA because they cannot come to meetings or be on campus during the day.  But whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, your ideas, your time, your talents and your VOICE are truly needed.  You are all part of the Adelante family.  Our unique goal of mixing our Spanish-speaking and English-speaking families both in volunteerism and in school events can only be met if we all come together as a school community.  There are endless possibilities in ways you can help, from joining and running event committees to various volunteer opportunities both inside and outside the classroom to at home classroom prep and PTA tasks.  Whether you can be on campus to contribute or contribute from home, your volunteerism is very appreciated.

 

By volunteering at Adelante, you will get to enjoy interacting with the kids, become friends with other parents, and accomplish things that truly make a difference.  Research shows that students whose parents are involved in their education have better grades and fewer discipline problems. We promise that the time you give to the PTA and the school will be worth your while—and fun!

 

There are many ways to get important information about our PTA.

 

  1. Sign-up for our monthly messages from our leadership.
  2. Attend our general PTA meetings, which are held via zoom every other month starting in September
  3. Attend café con PTA learn about outcome of decisions every other month in the mornings. The next cafe con PTA is August 2023 at 8:45am.
  4. Follow our Familia de Adelante Facebook page. It is great for communication and is a source for current information and getting questions answered.
